â—¾ If you could collaborate with any architect from history, who would it be and why?
I would collaborate with Hemiunu and the architects and designers of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Such a feat of human ingenuity is truly captivating. The precision, scale, and mystery surrounding its construction continue to intrigue me. Working alongside those who were responsible for this monumental achievement would be an incredible opportunity to uncover the methods behind it—maybe even confirming some of the History Channel’s wild speculations that it was, in fact, built by aliens.
◾ What’s your favourite piece of music, wither for working along to in the studio or outside!
My Spotify wrapped tells me that, Irish band Fontaines D.C. were on repeat throughout 2024. I got to see them live at Factory International in Manchester a few months back—a phenomenal show in an equally impressive venue.
â—¾ If you could design a building anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Designing my own home in the English countryside would be a dream—a space that beautifully merges the preservation of a historic structure with modern timber construction methods. The contrast between the weight and solidity of stone and the warmth and lightness of timber creates a dialogue that resonates deeply with me.
◾ What’s your favourite movie or TV show?
I’ve just finished watching The Sopranos, and it’s taken the top spot on my favourite TV list. The dynamic relationships and outstanding acting are unmatched. Just when everything seems to be going smoothly, out of nowhere, one of your favourite characters gets whacked! It keeps you on the edge of your seat and on your toes, constantly surprising you – similar to the construction industry!
â—¾ Do you have a favourite book or what are you reading currently?
It’s Not How Good You Are, It’s How Good You Want to Be by Paul Arden. A mentor gifted me this in college, and its core message has driven me throughout my career: talent is important, but ambition and perseverance are what truly shape success
â—¾ What inspired you to become an architect?
From a young age, I was captivated by ancient civilizations, Egypt, Greek, Roman. I have poignant memories of exploring castles, churches, and ruins on family holidays. Those experiences, and the curiosity they sparked, are what led me into the profession.
