Hodder+Partners are delighted to announce the successful Gateway 2 application for the Haymarket development, our Bristol PBSA & Co-living development, set to be Bristol’s tallest building.
Standing on the former Premier Inn site and forming a new entrance to the city, the development comprises of 442 student accommodation units & 150 co-living bedrooms across a 29 and 18 storey towers.
‘The new BSR regime has aided us in demanding higher standards, earlier engagement with contractors and suppliers and accelerated the design process to deliver better quality, safer and more sustainable buildings. This wouldn’t have been possible without the fantastic collaboration of the wider consultant team and excellent dialogue with the contractor and client team.’ Ben Goble, Associate Architect
“As Building Regulations Principal Designer, our role has been to bring clarity across disciplines, maintain a robust Golden Thread of information, and ensure the design is sufficiently developed before construction begins. This new role under the BSR regime is a great example of how early leadership, structured change control, and clear duty holder roles can make the not only the gateway process a success but ultimately lead to safer buildings for the future.” – Samantha Dale Dale, Associate Architect BRPD
We extend our thanks to the contractor RG Group and the client team Olympian & Cain and our co-consultant team and look forward to delivering the scheme for 2028.
