Topping Out RHS Garden Bridgewater and New Cross Manchester

posted: 8/11/19

Two topping out ceremonies in as many weeks!

The final piece of the green roof was placed on the Welcome Building at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Garden Bridgewater in Salford.  RHS Bridgewater is the largest gardening project in Europe and aspires to welcome up to 700,000 people a year within a decade, a major new tourism attraction and horticultural destination for the North West of England.

Everyone braved the Manchester weather at our New Cross project topping out ceremony this week.  The proposal for Balfour Beatty is for a residential development of 274 apartments.  At ground floor a commercial unit to the Oldham Road façade of each block activates the street.  A single storey pavilion within the courtyard houses a concierge and residents’ gym with onsite car-parking situated in the single storey ‘half in half out’ basement which sits 1500m below ground level.
